TOKYO SERIES 4-6: COIN LAUNDRY, TSUKIJI MARKET, & GAME SHOW!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Tsukiji Market Samples, $150k Stretch Goal, & Tsukiji Ghost Crab
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 16, 2019 at 11:33:22 PM

Great news, the first round of samples for all of the games are already in! We are now at the point in production that the last three games were at in April. This is a very strong start.

I've taken some photos of the fish resources and barrels in Tsukiji Market to compare against my original hand painted prototypes. I will be tweaking the new samples to share more of the faded, metallic look of the prototypes, so bear in mind this is early stages. Note the printed components are hand made prototypes, no samples are in yet for those.

WARNING! BEAUTIFUL IMAGES INBOUND!

*3D printed prototype ships on the top row, final resin ships on the bottom row.

*I wanted to point out that the harbor cards and port coverings will have variable thicknesses to really give the feel of a harbor port!

What are you thoughts on the components and colors so far? Feel free to give opinions or suggestions in the comments :)

Finally, I want to showcase the awesome next stretch goal! First off, ALL of the 54 fishing barrels in the game will have their height increased from 3mm to 4mm, which will both look great on the ships, and give extra area when grabbing them.

There will also be 2 brand new added external grey markets, 'Barter' and 'Auction'! There will likely still be tweaks and changes to them before release, but this is the general structure.

BARTER: In the barter market, you can enter, propose an item or items for trade, and all other players will have one opportunity to give you an offer. You can then choose to accept one, or not.

AUCTION: In the auction market, you will enter and offer up a grouping of fish resources. In turn order, other players will then continue bidding until all but 1 has passed. The winning bidder will pay their bid to the seller, which will be matched by the bank, and the seller will give their resources to the bidder. There is a fee however to use the auction house on top of the 1 action required to enter, some of the earnings will be taken based on the number of resources you auctioned as shown on the market card.

And now, for three amazing facts about one of our new mascots, Tsukiji Ghost Crab!

POINT 1 - Tsukiji Ghost Crab is the top Sumo wrestler of the crab world, famously known for defeating a spider crab over 6x in size. Partly due to agility, and sheer willpower, Tsukiji doesn't mess around! I would watch your step the next time you're in Tokyo.

POINT 2 - After being brought in with another catch of crab, Ghost Crab found their way to the friendliest looking old person, and did some acrobatic tricks. Crabs aren't known for their acrobatics (usually just for their pinches), but ordinary crabs don't get to be mascots!

POINT 3 - This. You will often see this, which will make more sense, when we talk about Hexakun in a future update!

Stay tuned for news on the blind box toys, more back story, and more samples! Thanks for helping push this project as far as we have, in so little time! You are amazing, and I believe in you just as much as you believe in me, because we both share the goal of having fun!

WE ARE FUNDED! FREE METAL CURRENCY UNLOCKED!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 15, 2019 at 06:16:34 PM

Woooo! We already did it! I can hardly believe I just hit the launch button a few hours ago :o Thank you so much for your support, this has been a gigantic team effort and I'm so happy to have you here!

You might be wondering why Hexakun is often different colors, or wearing a lot of hats... Well that's because Hexakun is a 6 tentacled Octopus that can color shift and has an obsession with hat wearing! You'll hear more on the back story of the new mascots and blind box toys in future updates, so stay tuned!

That sweet new metal currency is now yours! Get ready to load some washing machines into Japanese trucks, oh how glorious! In addition to being used a currency for the TOKYO SERIES games, you'll also be able to play several stand-alone games with the currency as well! I'm naming it 'CURRENCY TORAKKU', which is the Japanese Katakana word for truck.

Did you also know there are rules online for the first metal currency, aka 'CURRENCY SAKANA'? You can find the new game 'It's in the Bag', a unique and awesome bluffing blind auction game (one of my finest!) HERE

The $75k stretch goal has just been revealed, let's keep pushing for more upgrades and content unlocks! What a great day :D
